Kenyan MP Koimburi Found Injured After Apparent Abduction in Kiambu

NAIROBI, KENYA – Juja Member of Parliament, George Koimburi, was reportedly found dumped in a coffee plantation in Kiambu, Monday morning, following an alleged abduction on Sunday (5/25/2025). His family has confirmed he is currently receiving treatment at a hospital near Ruiru town.

Disturbing details emerged from the incident, with video footage circulating showing the MP being driven away in a silver Subaru Forester with civilian plates from outside a church in Mugutha, Kiambu County. His wife, Ann Koimburi, was reportedly injured during the scuffle.

While the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has denied any involvement in the abduction, they did confirm that Koimburi has been sought since Friday regarding allegations of land fraud and misuse of Constituency Development Funds (CDF). Mrs. Koimburi expressed her frustration, noting past instances where authorities took her husband’s phone and vehicle during investigations without providing clear information on his whereabouts. The incident has raised significant questions about the circumstances surrounding the MP’s disappearance and subsequent discovery.
